These accusations arise from a complaint filed by Catalina Monreal, a former candidate for mayor of Cuauhtémoc, who claims to have been the target of derogatory comments during the electoral campaigns from April to June, which constitute gender-based political violence.
In this context, Rojo de la Vega requested a hearing to present defense arguments to these accusations from the Morena party and the former candidate for mayor of Cuauhtémoc, however, at the time of connecting virtually for the same, the presiding judge of the Court did not connect, which caused Rojo de la Vega’s annoyance.
The mayor-elect of Cuauhtémoc maintained that Catalina Monreal is trying to reverse the results of the June 2 elections through institutional means, first by accusing irregularities in the vote count, with which a recount of ballots was granted and later through accusations of political gender violence, with the support of the magistrates. Osiris Vazquez and Armando Ambrizthe latter being interim president of the local Electoral Court.
Rojo de la Vega previously stated that Judge Ambriz is linked to the inner circle of Ricardo Monreal, the next leader of the Morena bench in the Chamber of Deputies.
“They have been demonstrating with their actions that a well-connected family name is worth more than the will of hundreds of thousands. They are part of this system that keeps this country in ruins and that we have sworn to defeat,” he said.
Alessandra Rojo de la Vega accused magistrates Armando Ambriz and Osiris Vázquez of voting equally in the discussion of her case, causing a tie and thus favoring Morena with the casting vote.
“We have seen them with their divided votes, always two to two (of four judges), with you, the presiding judge (Armando Ambriz) being the one to break the tie so that these injustices are commented on. I ask you: is this how you imagined going down in history?” he said.
