Santa Cruz, Tierra del Fuego and the south of Chubut are under yellow alert due to winds from the western sector with speeds between 60 and 75 kilometers per hour with gusts that could exceed 100 kilometers per hour, reported the National Meteorological Service (SMN).
In Santa Cruz territory, the alert covers both the Andes and plateau areas, accompanied by rains, and will last until tomorrow.
Similarly, the SMN forecasts intense winds for the entire province of Tierra del Fuego, where snowfalls of varying intensity are also expected.
In the case of Chubut, the strong winds will reach the Escalante Plateau, the department of Sarmiento and the southwest of Florentino Ameghino, according to official reports.
The SMN recommended that residents of the areas under alert avoid outdoor activities and secure items that can fly.
