the life of political prisoner Kevin Solís is once again at “risk”, because the young opponent was recently the victim of “physical and psychological torture” in the National Penitentiary System (SPN), Jorge Navarro, known as “La Modelo”, alerted various opposition organizations .
The Articulation of Social Movements (AMS) denounced, on its Twitter account, that the maximum security director of “La Modelo”, Roger Guevara, was in charge of beating and psychologically torturing Solís.
He also pointed out that Guevara “apart from constantly beating him (Kevin Solís), threatens him with” leaving jail only dead.

“It is not the first time that Kevin has suffered torture, putting his life at risk, as well as those of all political prisoners in Nicaragua,” the agency added.
For its part, the opposition Ireland Jerez warned that Roger Guevara “together with his subordinates are responsible for what happens to Kevin.”
Kevin Solís was arrested for the second time on February 6, 2020 outside the Central American University (UCA) and was sentenced to five years and six months in prison for the alleged crime of aggravated robbery.
In April 2021, he was benefited from precautionary measures by the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights (IACHR), an organization that considers that the opponent is in a “serious situation” in the cells of the dictatorship of Daniel Ortega and Rosario Murillo.
The Nicaraguan regime keeps more than 230 political prisoners behind bars. Their relatives have denounced physical, psychological and emotional abuse, in addition to the humane and unhealthy conditions in which they find themselves.
Those who are detained in the SPN are accused of common crimes, although their cases have political overtones due to their active participation in the protests, such as the case of Kevin Solís.
