This Monday, October 21, the Judiciary will finally issue a sentence against former president Alejandro Toledo for the Interoceánica Sur caseafter several years of litigation for the alleged delivery of bribes by the Brazilian company Odebrecht to be awarded the contract for the construction of the Peru-Brazil highway. The Public Ministry has requested a sentence of 20 years and 6 months for the former president, who was extradited from the United States to Peru in 2023. Alejandro Toledo would be the first former president in receiving a conviction.
