Alejandro Cavero announces his candidacy for the Chamber of Deputies for Avanza País

Congressman Alejandro Cavero announced on social networks that they will be a candidate for Country advances to the Chamber of Deputies for Lima. The parliamentarian will go with number 8 and joins the list of more than 80 legislators who are once again seeking a seat in the Legislature.

The congresswoman positively mentioned other candidates from Ahora Nación in her speech.

“Friends, I want to tell you that thanks to the kind invitation of General José Williams Zapata I have decided to accompany him as a candidate for deputy for Lima to continue together this challenging and challenging path of defending our country from that left that has done so much damage and wants to continue doing,” Cavero said on his X account.

The parliamentarian added that based on the model of freedom that the party has, he will “finally get our country off the ground.” He also said that the country has experienced a moment of “frustration and lethargy” and that with his candidacy he will seek to get out of that situation to “recover the greatness of Peru.”

CASE ADVANCES COUNTRY

A citizen filed an appeal against the presidential candidacy of José Williams, from Avanza País, before the National Elections Jury (JNE), alleging serious violations of electoral regulations and the statutes of the political organization in the process of internal democracy.

In the document submitted to the Special Electoral Jury of Lima Centro 1, the author of the blemish, Carlos Alonso Javier Guevara, points out that the congressman failed to comply with his duty to truthfully declare on his resume the information about his income as a parliamentarian for the year 2024.

In the file, the complainant details that the Affidavit of the presidential candidate uploaded to the Electoral Platform records the amount of 187 thousand soles as annual income for his parliamentary work, a figure that differs from those declared by legislators from his own bench who will also participate in the electoral process.

Among these, he points out the reports declared by Adriana Tudela, who is a member of the Avanza País presidential team along with Williams, in which she records 426,122.93 soles as income received in 2024 as a congressman.

For this reason, the Avanza País party filed a formal complaint with the Money Laundering Prosecutor’s Office against Carlos Alonso Javier Guevara, the citizen who filed an objection against his presidential formula led by José Williams Zapata. The party accuses Javier Guevara of being the alleged perpetrator of the crime against the economic order and the administration of justice in the form of money laundering.

The complaint is based on the suspicion of the illicit origin of the funds used to pay the corresponding fee that must be paid when one presents an objection to a presidential ticket. Guevara’s initial fault was declared inadmissible by the Special Electoral Jury (JEE), but it was corrected on January 3, 2026 with the payment of S/. 5,350.00 through the Pagalo.pe platform of the Banco de la Nación.

Avanza País alleges that, after verifying the information, Javier “has no known economic activity, much less a professional profile that makes it reasonable to believe that he can pay such an electoral fee.”
