Alcoholics Anonymous will hold a series of forums virtually, through digital platforms such as Meet and Skype and social networks. They are directed both for relatives of people addicted to alcohol consumption and for those directly affected by the disease
The Alcoholics Anonymous Foundation celebrates this Saturday, June 10, 88 years of having been created. Within the framework of that anniversary, the organization offered a day of awareness activities about alcoholism in Venezuela.
“We will carry out activities throughout our national geography, in universities, churches, Metro stations with the groups that work in different parishes of the country,” the association communicated in a press release shared with SuchWhich.
The first activities took place precisely this Saturday, with Caracas as the venue. The first was a conversation held in the auditorium of the Domingo Luciani hospital. In parallel, but in Valencia another was held in the auditorium of the Ciudad Hospitalaria Doctor Enrique Tejera. In them, people were invited to join this association to have a support network that can help in case of suffering from alcoholism.
“Alcoholics Anonymous is a fellowship of people who share their experience, strength and hope with each other, to solve their common problem and help others to recover from alcoholism. The only requirement to be a member is the desire to stop drinking, no admission fees or fees are paid, we support ourselves with our own contributions, “the communication reads.
In this sense, Alcoholics Anonymous also announced that it will hold a series of forums virtually, through digital platforms such as Meet and Skype and social networks. They are mainly aimed at both relatives of people addicted to alcohol consumption and those directly affected by the disease.
Details about the time and dynamics of these activities can be found on the Instagram of Alcoholics Anonymous Venezuela, which estimates that about three million people in the nation have problems with their drinking. The data, affirmed the organization “represents an important focus in the deterioration of health in our country.”
