Vice President and Minister of Development, Industry, Commerce and Services (MDIC), Geraldo Alckmin, received this Friday (14), at the Planalto Palace, the visit of American Senator Steve Daines. Member of the Republican Party, elected by the state of Montana, Daines is ally of President Donald Trump.
“We had a very useful meeting. This year complete 200 years of the partnership, Friendship Brazil and the United States, and we will celebrate further strengthening these ties,” Alckmin said in a quick statement to journalists after the meeting.
The vice president also said that the senator brought a hug from President Trump, Vice President JD Vance and Secretary of State Marco Rubio.
“This is our first visit to Brazil. What a wonderful way to enjoy this time with the vice president [Alckmin]. We have many values in common, we share many beliefs about freedom and self -determination, “said the US Senator, who was accompanied by his wife.
The US Senator’s visit occurs amid an environment of intensifying US commercial disputes with various countries, including Brazil.
