Dream fulfilled. Albión has managed to ascend to the First Division of Uruguay after winning. The squad and the fans will not forget this moment who have been waiting for so many years because for more than 113 years they have not managed to be among the greatest in Uruguayan football. His worst year in the 20th century was in 1905 when he descended from First, beginning a complicated period that would last more than a hundred years. Nevertheless, everything changed eight years ago with the arrival of Leonardo Blanco, who went from being a coach to being Albion’s main shareholder. That moment meant the birth of a new project that would have a clear objective: to go up to the First Division.

In 2017, four years after Blanco’s arrival, Albión was champion of the Second National B which meant promotion to Second Division. Little by little the foundations were settling over the years until something historic was achieved a few days ago. The Pioneer is first class. The road has been long and winding, but he has managed to overcome all obstacles, some of them were not easy. This season he had to compete against teams like Defensor Sporting, Racing, Cerro or Danubio. They are all superior teams although on the court that difference was not noticed by the work done by coach Darlyn Gayol.
