Yagoda’s departure coincides with the inauguration of the new minister Karina Rando

The president of the National Board of Health (Junasa), Alberto Yagodawill leave his position at the end of the month, according to the Ministry of Public Health in a statement.
“The Ministry of Public Health informs that the President of the National Health Board, Cr. Alberto Yagoda, will continue to perform his functions until the end of this month since he had assumed the commitment to occupy his position for a determined period,” says the MSP statement.
Yagoda took office in September 2021 instead of Luis González Machado, who had been appointed by the Minister of Public Health, Daniel Salinasat the start of his tenure.
Yagoda’s departure also coincides with the resignation of Minister Salinaswho will leave his position next Monday when the first cases of covid-19 were detected in Uruguay 3 years ago.
Salinas’s place will be occupied by the person who until last year served as general director of the MSP Coordination, Karina Rando. Yagoda’s successor will be appointed once Rando assumes her new role.
Yagoda is a public accountant and has a master’s degree in Health Business Management. Until assuming the position at the head of Junasa, he served as director of the accounting area of Casmu.
