Since last week, more than 300 schools in the province of Buenos Aires they closed their doors or modified the schedule of the school day, due to the lack of gas for heating.
For this reason, the General Director of Culture and Education in Buenos Aires, Alberto Sileoni, will meet with teachers’ associations to analyze the problem in the schools and find a solution for educational establishments.
The Teaching Unity Front, made up of FEB, Suteba, Sadop, AMET and Udocba, requested the meeting with Sileoni to “give specific treatment to the priority conditions for the development of classes in the period of low temperatures in the schools Buenos Aires.”

In this regard, from the provincial government they indicated in recent days that, during the current administration, an investment of more than $2,000 million has been made to solve the heating problems in the campuses.
However, 350 establishments still have problems heating the classrooms, for which they have had to implement forceful measures such as the suspension of classes.
Therefore, the meeting with Sileoni will seek to put an end to this problem, since annually the schools They report having difficulties with gas during the cold season.
The Government presented a report on the situation
The General Directorate of Culture and Education revealed in a report that the administration of Axel Kicillof carried out 1,552 interventions in schools, of which 888 have already been completed and 664 are in progress.
Likewise, Governor Axel Kicillof explained that they are going to work to solve the situation, since more than 300 thousand students have been affected by the suspension of classes.
