The former Samarian priest spoke of taxes and tithes, two large issues in the Catholic Church.
Colombian News.
«I have never believed in tithing. I can’t imagine God as an accountant telling me that he only gives him 10%. I imagine him asking me for 100% of my life, of my heart,” said former Samarian priest Alberto Linero in an interview with the newspaper El Tiempo.
The excura Samario spoke with that news outlet about his life experience without the cassock and far from celibacy.

It should be remembered that Linero withdrew from the Catholic Church in his role as a priest and now only follows it as one more parishioner. Apart from being the #1 fan of Unión Magdalena, he maintains a loving relationship with a woman he knew a long time ago but who, due to his role as a clergyman in society, could never have anything more than a friendship.
Precisely on this topic, Linero was emphatic about celibacy and gave his point of view on the matter: “Adopt optional celibacy. That is to say, that the one who is going to be ordained can decide if he is celibate or not… Carefully review some moral postulations that respond to cultural and scientific moments very different from the current ones, and are outdated, “said Alberto Linero, who is now a panelist from Blue Radio.
Then, the former priest spoke about taxes, an issue that was considered at various points in the tax reform of the current government of President Gustavo Petro but that finally fell into conciliation.
«Christians believe in a fairer, more equitable society, and in our democracies that also translates into contributing to taxes. That is why I believe that all citizens should pay taxes », he opined.
And he added: «Christians and Catholics are no exception. We must be citizens who see that our contribution is used to guarantee the rights of all, not privileges of a few.
Finally, Linero believes that God is not an accountant who is aware of the amount of money that believers deposit in the polls to tithe.
«I have never believed in tithing. I can’t imagine God as an accountant telling me that he only gives him 10%. I imagine him asking me for 100% of my life, of my heart, “concluded the former father of the Catholic Church.
