Inauguration of a Recreational Park
Previously, Fernández also led the inauguration ceremony of the Los Sauces water, recreation and sports park in La Rioja, built with an investment of 50 million pesos within the framework of the “50 Destinations” Plan of the Ministry of Tourism in order to expand and diversify the ecotourism offer in the area.
The water, recreation and sports park is located just over 15 kilometers northwest of the provincial capital, on the edge of the Los Sauces dam, which dams the waters of the homonymous river, forming a large artificial lake, in the midst of picturesque landscapes surrounded by hills, and which constitutes a destination for camping, sport fishing and nautical activities, both for the local population and for tourism.
It is the first of its kind in the province, it has an access portico, a theme bar and a walk for artisans, a water park with pools, a dry square, a camping sector and parking, the sources indicated.
This is the third work completed by the ten projects included in the Plan 50 destinations in La Rioja: in 2021, the enhancement of the Castro Barros Cultural Walk, in the provincial capital, and the Visitor Center at the Historic Sites of the Caudillos Riojanos, in the town of Huaja, were inaugurated.
The 50 Destinations Plan has the objective of revitalizing, strengthening and expanding the tourist offer in emerging and consolidated destinations throughout the country, It contemplates an investment of more than 7,200 million pesos, with more than 230 works underway, which promotes the generation of more than 34,000 jobs with federal criteria.
