President Alberto Fernández received this Sunday night representatives of the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC) and the Nobel Prize-winning economist, Joseph Stiglitz, who will participate from Monday in the 39th ECLAC assembly in Buenos Aires.
The meeting took place at the Olivos residence, where The executive secretary of ECLAC, José Manuel Salazar-Xirinachs, and the director of the Office of that organization in Buenos Aires, Martín Abeles, attended.official sources reported.
The Head of State was also accompanied by the Ministers of Economy, Sergio Massa; of Foreign Relations, International Trade and Worship, Santiago Cafiero, and of Science, Technology and Productive Innovation, Daniel Filmus.
In addition to Stiglitz, attended by economists Mariana Mazzucato, professor at University College London (UCL); Gabriela Plump, from Columbia University, and Luca Khun von Bürgsdorff, from UCL.
This group of Economists arrived in the country to participate from Monday in the 39th session of ECLAC, at the Kirchner Cultural Center (CCK).
The 39th session of the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC) will take place between Monday 24 and Wednesday 26 October and will begin at 9 with the opening ceremony at the Kirchner Cultural Center (CCK), with the presence of President Alberto Fernández and the Foreign Minister of Costa Rica, Arnoldo André Tinoco, in his capacity as president of the 38th period of sessions.
Inflation due to a cut in supply, inclusive development, multilateralism and security cooperation, and the impact of the war in Ukraine, will be the main topics on the economic agenda that Latin American countries will address throughout this week during the 39th ECLAC Biennial Assembly.
