President Alberto Fernández ratified Miguel Angel Pesce as president of Central Bank of the Argentine Republic (BCRA) “for a period of law that will expire on September 23, 2028“, after his current mandate expired on September 23.
The mandate of the director was not renewed claudia bergerwhich opens the door to the appointment of another director or director.
The measure will be published in the next few hours in the Official Gazette and will bear the signature of the President and the Minister of Economy, Serge Massaas confirmed to Télam by official sources.
Although the BCRA authorities have positions of 6 years and are appointed by the Executive Power, their specifications must be approved by the Senate to be confirmed in their position.
Until this happens, the Executive Power can make appointments in commission during the time it takes to grant the agreement of the Senate, since the BCRA Organic Charter thus enables it.
Since the arrival of Sergio Massa at the Palacio de Hacienda, only the appointment of Lysander Cleri as second vice president of the organization, after the resignation of Arnaldo Bocco on August 17.
In order for Cleri to assume that position, the then vice president George Carrera he returned to the post of director.
Bocco’s resignation was formally communicated through decree 501/2022 published in the Official Gazette, where the official’s resignation was accepted and he was thanked for “the valuable services provided in the performance of said position.”
