At the press conference that Gabriela Cerruti offered this Thursday morning, she confirmed that Alberto Fernandez and his entire presidential entourage, will travel next Saturday to Germany to participate in the G7 summit.
President, who will attend by special invitation the German chancellor, Olaf Scholz, will bring, before the assembly, his concern about the war, about which Alberto Fernandez has insisted that action must be taken urgently.
This is the first time that Argentina has participated as a guest in the summit, so Alberto Fernandez not only will he represent the country, but all of Latin America.
In this sense, the country has become a regional leader, which has been in charge of taking to the main governments of the world, its concern about the repercussions that the conflict between Russia and Ukraine brings to the continent; in particular, on inflation and the availability and prices of food and energy.
The president extended this same message during his last tour of Europe, where he visited France, Spain and Germany. It was precisely after the visit to this country that the president was invited to the summit.
“President It will carry the voice, as it did at the Summit of the Americas, in the meetings it held with Pedro Sánchez, with Macrón and with Scholz on the last tour, in which it already exposed these issues and will continue to support the Argentine position that this is not only a problem of NATO and Russia, but that it is a problem of the world”, Cerruti specified.
It should be remembered that the summit is held with the seven main economic powers, for which Germany, the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Japan, France and Italy participate, for which the participation of the Argentine president will be, in addition to being very important, a great opportunity for the country.
When is the G7 summit taking place?
The 48th G7 summit is scheduled to take place June 26-28 at Schloss Elmau in the Bavarian Alps. This is the seventh time that Germany has served as the host country for the other governments and Heads of State.
As announced by Cerruti, during the summit the president will have bilateral meetings with the German chancellor and with other heads of government, which will be confirmed in the next few hours.
