“I celebrate the wonderful work of our scientists in Argentina and throughout the world,” said the president in recognition of the work carried out by Invap in starting up the radioisotope production plant in India.

The President highlighted this event that will allow the production of Molybdenum-99, “essential for nuclear medicine.”

The project carried out by Invap had the participation of personnel from the National Atomic Energy Commission (CNEA) and the Board of Radiation & Isotope Technology (BRIT), Department of Atomic Energy, of India.

In this regard, Invap said, through the same social network, “#GoodFriday- We launched the Radioisotope Production Plant in India! Yet another milestone in our long history of nuclear projects; Happy to be able to share this news with you!”

In addition, the agency stated in a statement published on its website: “A successful start-up of the Radioisotope Production Plant, for BRIT, in Mumbai, India.”

The project was called “LEU based Mo-99 Production Facility” (FMP), and was won by Invap in an international tender with the objective of producing Molybdenum-99, an essential tool for medical care that is used for diagnostic purposes in nuclear medicine.

The plant was designed and built by the Rio Negro company “it is one more example of our country’s commitment as a world leader in the peaceful use of nuclear energy, ratified in a bilateral agreement signed between the Argentine Republic and the Republic of India”, Invap added.
