President Alberto Fernandez and his pair from Brazil, Luiz Inacio Lula da Silvashared this Monday a meeting with representatives of human rights organizations, including Grandmothers of Plaza de Mayo Y Mothers of Plaza de Mayo Founding Line.
The meeting was held this Monday afternoon in the Argentine Science Hall of the Casa Rosada, official sources reported.
When opening the meeting, Fernández praised Lula and told him that “it is not necessary for me to introduce you to those who are all huge fighters for human rights in Argentina, an example of struggle in Latin America and the world. When they found out about your arrival in Argentina, all of them asked for this meeting.“.
For his part, the Brazilian president pointed out that “we are making a trip to reestablish the normal relationship between Brazil and Argentina“, and thanked “the solidarity of Alberto Fernández” during his imprisonment, a “hard moment for Brazilian democracy,” the sources said.
In her speech, the head of the Grandmothers of Plaza de Mayo, Carlotto’s Stelehighlighted to Lula the fact that “today you are president of this dear friendly people, brother, fills us with pride. We wish you the best and that you succeed with all your magnificent ideas to continue embracing us with solidarity and love“.
