President Alberto Fernández headed this Thursday in Salta the act in which the delivery of the house and the 40 thousand credit of its government management were formalizedoccasion in which he affirmed that the agreement reached with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) does not imply “adjustments” and that “there was never a moment in Argentina with so much public work”.

During the meeting, held in the capital of Salta to hand over the keys to the beneficiaries of the housing policies, the head of state expressed hope that the parliamentary approval of the agreement with the multilateral credit organization will leave a “clearer” horizon. .

“In the Senate, the agreement we signed with the Fund is being debated, a debt that we would not have taken but that Argentina took. I listen to ideas that suggest that facing the obligations that Argentina took on is going to mean adjustments. Where are the settings? If we are putting money so that people are educated, so that science and technology continue, so that houses are built. With this agreement there is no adjustment,” he emphasized.

In this framework, Fernández stated that, on the other hand, a default would have forced the alleged adjustment denounced to be carried out: “With this agreement there is no adjustment; we should have made an adjustment if we had fallen into default. There we did have no way out and no escape”.

“Today, I hope and trust that the Senate will join us with its vote and that we can go one step further. Tomorrow we will have a clearer horizon in this matterwe will know that there is a problem that has not been resolved but is beginning to be resolved, that cursed debt that we inherited,” added the president before knowing the favorable result.

In that sense, he pointed out that there are 40,000 homes delivered throughout the country that “reach beyond those who govern” locally: “I do not care how (the mayor of Salta) Bettina (Romero) and (the governor) Gustavo ( Sáenz); I am concerned that the people of Salta have their own house and, in that, Bettina and Gustavo think the same”.

“In the times we live in, we all have rights and the right to have a roof is a right. It is a human right to have a home”he added.

He also said that the habitat is “the starting point” to generate more equality.

“Everything we do to educate our children is the best investment we can make, but it is difficult to do it if these children do not have adequate living conditions. There is no more time. The starting point is that they have decent housing,” he said.
