ALBA-TCP repudiates American law that seeks to strengthen the blockade against Venezuela

ALBA-TCP condemns attacks in Lebanon

The Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America – People’s Trade Treaty (ALBA-TCP) categorically repudiated the Gringo Bill that seeks to intensify the attack against the economy of the Venezuelan people.

In a statementthe Bolivarian Alliance affirmed that the legal instrument, approved by the House of Representatives of the US Congress, is “a grotesque interference in the internal affairs of a sovereign State.”

Below is the full statement:

The Member States of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America – People’s Trade Agreement (ALBA-TCP) categorically repudiate the approval of a bill in the House of Representatives of the United States, this November 18, 2024 , which seeks to intensify the criminal and illegal economic blockade against the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela and which they have abused by calling the Bolívar Law.

This project with infamous objectives, an example of grotesque interference in the internal affairs of a sovereign State, seeks to harm, once again, the well-being of millions of Venezuelans, particularly the most vulnerable population, by intensifying the impact of coercive measures. unilateral.

It seeks to hinder the country’s economic recovery and prevent Venezuela’s economic relations and cooperation, adding to the more than 930 unilateral and extraterritorial coercive measures that are already applied against the Venezuelan people.

Additionally, this legislative project represents a clearly premeditated gross offense, which seeks to tarnish the name of the Liberator Simón Bolívar, a fundamental and historical figure of the independence of Latin America, who gave his entire life to the freedom and happiness of the peoples of the South and who was deeply anti-imperialist.

The Bolivarian Alliance demands respect for the Charter of the United Nations and the norms of International Law, as well as the will of free, independent and sovereign peoples, proud of the emancipatory feat of their independence leaders and warned, more than 200 years ago by Simón Bolívar himself, that the United States would intend to “plague America with misery in the name of freedom”

The ALBA-TCP calls on the sister nations of Latin America and the Caribbean and the international community as a whole, to condemn this illegal act and violation of national sovereignty, which will be a new failure of the imperial pretensions to subdue the brother Bolivarian people and their legitimate government.
