Through a statement, the Bolivarian Alliance for the peoples of Our America (Alba-TCP) follow the development of events, in particular, the numerous irregularities that affected the result of the elections in Ecuador and the consequent imputations of fraud in that process, an unprecedented fact in this country.
In the letter, the ALBA notes that the elections were held under a state of exception, declared 24 hours before the elections, which governed precisely in the provinces in which the Ecuadorian opposition has maintained a historic popular support. «The intimidating military presence at the voting tables and electoral centers was evident and extended throughout the country. Some international watchmen and observers declared themselves to feel pressured by official authorities ».
In this regard, the multilateral block refers that the events that occur are of such gravity, that the Bolivarian Alliance for the peoples of Our America expresses its firm complaint before the peoples of the world and the international community about what happened in the electoral process in Ecuador.

ALBA-TCP expresses firm complaint to elections in Ecuador
After the day for the election of the President of the Republic of Ecuador last Sunday, April 13, 2025, the member countries of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America (ALBA-TCP) follow the development of events, in particular, in particular, in particular, the numerous irregularities that affected the result of the elections in Ecuador and the consequent imputations of fraud in that process, unprecedented process in this process.
The elections were held under a state of exception, declared 24 hours before the elections, which governed precisely in the provinces in which the Ecuadorian opposition has maintained a historic popular support. In the midst of this repressive climate, days and hours prior to the election, arbitrary arrests were recorded, accompanied by the open persecution to leaders of the Ecuadorian opposition. To further thin the environment, the government hired the services of a connoted American mercenary and its team, an expert in military and psychological violence, in order to even more intimidate the electorate.
International observers officially informed that the electoral contest was developed in conditions of inequality, with improper use of the institutions and resources of the State, with changes of last minute rules in crucial organizational aspects, which generated distrust and uncertainty in the electoral process.
Opinion studies prior to the election, as well as most poll surveys carried out during the day, avizo a righter contest and foresee a possible triumph of the candidate Luisa González, of citizen revolution, which surprisingly was not reflected in the official results presented, which, on the contrary, seem insustentable.
The events that occur are of such gravity, that the Bolivarian Alliance for the peoples of Our America expresses its firm complaint before the peoples of the world and the international community about what happened in the electoral process in Ecuador.
