The Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America-Treaty of Trade of the Peoples (ALBA-TCP) celebrates with satisfaction that a growing number of countries has recognized the state of Palestine.
By means of a statement, the Alliance said that the support that has given a significant number of countries to Palestine, “constitutes a transcendental step towards the solution of the two states and the reaffirmation of the right of the Palestinian people to have an independent and sovereign state within the borders prior to 1967, with Eastern Jerusalem as capital.”
In the text, the nations grouped in this regional integration mechanism, argue that “recognizing Palestine is a moral and legal duty to guarantee regional and international peace and security.”
In that sense, it invites countries that have not yet manifested in favor of this cause “to recognize without delay”, the right that Palestine has “to exist as a free and sovereign nation; already occupy their seat as a full member of the United Nations Organization.”
Likewise, the ALBA-TCP condemns the genocide that Israel commits against the people of the Gaza Strip, in addition to the illegal occupation of the Palestinian territories.

In his speech this Monday before the UN, the president of the Palestinian National Authority (ANP), Mahmud Abáshighlighted the need to stop the Israeli offensive in the Palestinian enclave of Gaza, besieged for two years by the occupation of Tel Aviv.
This Tuesday, the 80 ° UN session will have as its debate center the approval of the “solution of the two states, two countries”.
Until now, 157 countries of the 193 that are members of the UN have formalized their recognition to the state of Palestine.
