Alarm for covid-19 outbreak in the Guarayos jail

The municipality of Ascensión de Guarayos accuses a covid-19 outbreak for a couple of weeks. New cases are reported daily at the Municipal Hospital and deaths caused by contagion are also lamented.

The last part corresponding to Wednesday, December 15, gives an account of seven positives in Ascension and one deceased. The two positive cases reported in inmates of the jail in that municipality are worrying.

The small cell is occupied by 14 deprived of liberty. The deputy governor of the Guarayos province, Santiago Chinchi, arrived at the police station with a medical brigade to provide comprehensive care to the inmates.

The contagions of Covid-19 They also affect two councilors of the municipality and to the manager of the Health Network, Kenia Ágreda.

Given the increase in cases, the Municipal Government announced the reopening of dthe Covid isolation center in the Olympic Village. However, time passes and that space cannot be enabled to attend to the more than 200 patients who remain at home in the care of relatives.

Finally, Griselda Abedaño, head of Covid statistics, highlighted the influx of young people and minors to vaccination centers. In one week, 49 children aged 5 to 11 were vaccinated, who received the Chinese dose Sinopharm, assigned by the Government for this age range.
