Al2 El Aldeano sings about the freedom of Venezuela: “Eternal example for Cubans”

Aldo el Aldeano (DDC)

SAN LUIS POTOSÍ, Mexico.- The prominent Cuban rapper Aldo Roberto Rodriguez BaqueroAl2 El Aldeano, composed a song for the freedom of Venezuela, after the election day in which the National Electoral Council declared Nicolás Maduro the winner in a process full of opacities.

In rejection of the election results, the Venezuelan people has taken to the streets to protest, calling for transparency in the results and demanding Maduro’s departure from power.

With the musical production of Raymond Daniel, Al2 El Aldeano created an anthem for Venezuelans and against the Maduro dictatorship.

“It was just a bad dream and love woke up. / The truth doesn’t die, fear is over. / Finally the light covers us and faith kisses us, / Free Venezuela, Maduro we want your head,” he sang in the song published this Tuesday on the platform Youtube.

In his song he described the regime Chavist as a farce, a “dirty democracy, a serious economy.”

He accused the press of misinforming the population about the real facts and expressed his pride in the people of Venezuela.

The theme of the issue is the latest conflict between the population and the regime’s military after the elections, where hundreds of people have been arrested and at least six have died.

“We don’t need weapons to look the tyrant in the eye, / Thank you for being an eternal example for Cubans, / Venezuela is free like all Venezuelans, / Maduro, go with your family, grab your millions. / Resign and ask for asylum, freedom prevails.”

“You lost respect, you lost the elections. / Dictator, you have to go, you have no other options. / Get out of power, you are hindering progress. / Free all the innocent men who are in prison. / Maybe you will never hear it, but I will tell you anyway,” she sang.

This, in which the people are making their voice heard, is a “historic moment” that “opens up a change even if it hurts many.”

Al2 has distinguished himself as a musician committed to denouncing social injustice and political repression.

Together with Bian Oscar Rodríguez (El B), Los Aldeanos became a milestone of social and anti-government criticism that defined the style and thematic focuses of the duo, to this day the most irreverent in the history of the genre on the Island, and one of the most influential in the underground music circuit.

Tensions in Venezuela have increased. The non-governmental organization Criminal Forum announced on Tuesday that the number of deaths from popular protests in response to electoral fraud by the Chavista regime has risen to six.

The NGO also verified some 132 arrests since July 29, the date on which the Venezuelan National Electoral Council (CNE), controlled by Chavez, accredited the presidential election to dictator Nicolás Maduro.

This Tuesday, the Minister of Defense in Venezuela, Vladimir Padrino López, offered statements this Tuesday in defense of the regime Chavista, claiming that the country was in the midst of a supposed “coup d’état plotted by the right,” in reference to the opposition.
