Santo Domingo.- Aerodom informs that at 6:05 pm the Energy in the entire terminal building of the Américas International Airport, José Francisco Peña Gómez (SDQ), After the fault occurred on Sunday morning in an internal airport section.
The incident, registered at 9:18 am, affected only the terminal building and was not related to the public electricity grid. During this period, the air field and the control tower continued to operate safely through backup systems, which allowed the continuity of landings and take -off.

The technical teams worked uninterruptedly to overcome the breakdown, supported by the hiring of emergency generators. At 2:15 pm it was possible to restore the service in the southern part of the terminal and, finally, at 6:05 pm also in the northern zone, achieving the total recovery of the systems.
The operations are currently advancing in a progressive standardization process. This event caused delays on multiple flights, so we recommend passengers with scheduled flights to validate the status directly with their airlines.
More than 30 flights were affected throughout the day with deviations, cancellations and delays. Among these are:

• Delayed: Readir 300 (Curacao), Intercaribbean 233 (Providenciales), Intercaribbean 410 (Turtle), Jetblue 2549 (Fort Lauderdale), Spirit 145 (Fort Lauderdale), Jetblue 2537 (San Juan), Jetblue 9 (New York JFK), Cup 128 (Panama) 861 (Pointe-à-Pitre), AreaT 4001 (Curacao), AreaT 1803 (Cartagena).
With the energy already restored in 100% of the terminal building, all areas of the airport operate normally.
