The executive director of Airport Department (DA), Víctor Pichardo, He received this friday of city hall of the municipality of Oviedo, Pedernales province, a copy of the resolution issued by the Chapter House of the council, in which they express the back to construction of the international Airport “red cape” in that community.
The delivery of the document to Pichardo took place during a visit by the municipal authorities to the DA headquarters, headed by the mayor Ramón Pérez Terrero and the councilor Yamiris Pérez Matos, president of the Chapter House, in which the progress of the the work and the guarantees in the respect of the landowners were reiterated.
“Today is a historic event, because regularly in the development of an infrastructure of this nature, the obstacles come from the municipal part, however, you have made a difference in this project. They have been a benchmark for the country,” said Pichardo.

He argued that, unlike what was said before, on this occasion the Chapter House unanimously, together with the mayor, has agreed to receive the work, which represents an example that must be recognized. “You have marked a before and after in terms of municipal management and the acceptance of a project that includes comprehensive urban development and planning.”
While, when taking the floor, Mayor Pérez Terrero explained that the international airport of the Cabo Rojo project “will be life for our area, for our municipality and the province itself.” “If we want an impact from the hotels, as it is intended to be developed, with this we will have the tourists in the patio, as they say,” said Pérez Terrero.
He thanked the efforts of the Airport Department, which Pichardo directs, as well as the decision of the President of the Republic, Luis Abinader, to make the work a reality and said that they are willing to support it, especially because of the depression in the area and the opportunities that represents the project.
In addition to the mayor, the councilors present agreed to reiterate their gratitude to Pichardo for the follow-up and the disposition that he has always maintained with the municipal authorities.

Meanwhile, Pichardo was accompanied by the Legal Director, Leandro Santana, Orlando Gómez, surveyor assigned to the project, and Chistiern Broberg, Technical Director.
