With the reactivation of air connectivity between the Dominican Republic and Bolivarian Republic of Venezuelaseveral national companies are preparing to start their flights to that destination, which has one of the fastest growing foreign diasporas in the country.
Through the resolution 24-2026 of the Civil Aviation Board (JAC)Red Air SA and Sky High Aviation Dominicana SA are specifically authorized to resume this route in their destination offering. However, other Dominican companies are already making the necessary preparations to assume that commercial air destination, covered by current air transport agreements.
According to the president of the JAC, Hector Porcellathese airline operators are adjusting their flight schedules to join the route between Dominican Republic and Venezuela.
“The airlines (which are in the resolution) They have a valid permit to make the flights, they are adjusting their flight schedules to integrate them as soon as possible,” Porcella reported.
The official added that there is no established order for the resumption of flights, which gives flexibility to airlines to join according to their operational availability.
Air Century prepares to offer flights to Venezuela
The president of the Dominican Airlines Association (ADLA) and the airline Air Century, Omar Chahinassured that they are working to start flights to various points in Venezuela.
He indicated that this process could take around two months for its execution, considering that it must be accompanied by an appropriate dissemination process to guarantee the sustainability of the proposal.

As a representative of the union, he highlighted the importance of this activity, given the constant exchange relationship that Venezuela has had with Dominican Republic in the past. “It is a excellent news for the Dominican airlines that we can have Venezuela again in our destination portfolio,” he said.
Although there are still few expectations and projections for the future, they added that they would also like to establish the conditions to promote a frequency to Haiti, considering that it is a destination with business opportunities significant.
