Airlines announce resumption of flights to Venezuela

International air connectivity with Venezuela begins to be reactivated during the first quarter of 2026 with the announcement by airlines that they will resume strategic routes to Caracas, after months of operational suspensions and security restrictions that impacted the sector.

International and national companies have confirmed the progressive restart of their flights, in a measure that aims to restore passenger mobility, commercial exchange and the country’s connection with key destinations in Europe, South America and the Middle East.

Turkish Airlines It is leading this process with the return of its direct operation between Istanbul and Caracas, while the Brazilian GOL will resume its link with São Paulo and the Venezuelan Laser Airlines will do the same with its route to Madrid. Together, these decisions reflect a phase of normalization of air transport to the country during 2026.

When are flights reactivated?

Turkish Airlines

  • It resumes the Istanbul-Caracas route on March 3, 2026.
  • It will operate three weekly frequencies (Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday).
  • It will use Boeing 787-900 Dreamliner aircraft on direct, non-stop flights.

GOL Air Lines

  • Resume São Paulo-Caracas flights on March 8, 2026.
  • It will have four weekly frequencies and two flights in each direction.
  • The route connects Guarulhos airport with Maiquetía.

Laser Airlines

  • Reactivate the Caracas-Madrid route on February 18, 2026.
  • Operations three times a week non-stop on Airbus A330.
  • Departures from Caracas on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays; Return from Madrid Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday.

What is the reason for the reactivation?

The resumption of these operations responds to factors that have marked the recent aerial dynamics:

  • The suspension of security alerts and operational restrictions that affected airlines.
  • Adjustments to itineraries and technical planning of companies to reestablish long-range routes.
  • Progressive reopening of air connections with Venezuela and the willingness of the authorities to allow the operation of foreign airlines again.
