Wifi reaches some airports in Colombia.
Colombia has registered a significant increase in air traffic during 2024, with growth in 22.6% on domestic flights and 10.5% on international flights between January and Julyaccording to data from the International Air Transport Association (IATA).
According to estimates of the Colombian Association of Travel and Tourism Agencies (Anato), The country will reach a record of 56 million passengers transported by the end of the year, which represents 15% more compared to 2023.
In response to this growth, the Civil Aeronautics (Aerocivil) has implemented innovative strategies to modernize its airport infrastructure, including the installation of free WiFi zones in more than 35 satellite airports through OhmyFi technology.

Among the benefited airports are those of Buenaventura, Pasto, Neiva, San Andrés, Villavicencio and Ibaguéwith plans to expand coverage towards the end of 2024.
Liceth Orozco, CEO of OhmyFi, highlighted that this connectivity is key for travelers with limitations in their data plans andemployees in areas with low mobile coverage.
“The connection points not only improve the user experience, but also optimize airport operations, promoting tourism development and the technological modernization of the sector,” he stated.

This strategy seeks consolidate Colombia as a benchmark in air and tourism connectivity in the regionwhile OhmyFi plans to expand its WiFi management model to countries such as Mexico and El Salvador by 2025.
