The Peru Air Force (FAP) reported on the arrest of the former secondary of second Gerardo Saúl Chunga Zárate, investigated for serious crimes as sexual exploitation of minors, and condemned the actions of the former member of the institution.
Through statement No. 021-2025, the FAP, through its Directorate of Information and Aerospace Interests, reported the arrest of an ex-military that belonged to the Air Force.
This is the ex -subject of Second Gerardo Saúl Chunga Zárate, arrested by the National Police of Peru (PNP) in coordination with the Public Ministry (MP), accused of serious crimes against minors, including sexual exploitation and child pornography.
“Through information provided by the National Police of Peru and the Public Prosecutor”, Says the statement.
According to the information of the Air Force, Chunga Zárate was discharged by “not complying with the professional standards required in the military career”, since it failed to reach the immediate superior degree within the period established by law. His retirement, they said, was not linked to the alleged crimes that are charged today.
However, the FAP categorically rejected the alleged acts attributed to the exsuboficial, pointing out that they constitute a “betrayal of the nation’s confidence” and the values of the institution. He also said that these facts correspond only to the ex -military and “does not reflect the moral of the men and women of the FAP.”
