The Spanish airline Air Europa announced this Monday that has extended the suspension of its flights between Madrid and Caracas until January 31, “due to the situation in Venezuela.”
The company, which already suspended its operations in the country on November 24, has successively extended the cancellation. As alternatives for affected travelers, it offers free date or route changes, a voucher or a full refund of the ticket.
This measure is aligned with that adopted by other airlines. Both Iberia and Plus Ultra have also extended the suspension of their flights to Caracas until January 31, following the recommendation of the Aviation Safety Agency (AESA), sources from both companies recently confirmed to Efe.
The decision responds to an order from the National Institute of Civil Aeronautics (INAC) of Venezuela, which has revoked the operating licenses in the country of all the aforementioned airlines. Along with the three Spanish ones, TAP (Portugal), Avianca (Colombia), Gol (Brazil), Latam Colombia and Turkish Airlines (Türkiye).
