The Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism (Mincetur) highlighted the return of Air Canada to Peru, with the restart of its direct routes Lima-Toronto and Lima-Montreal, each with two weekly frequencies.
According to Mincetur, after two years of absence, this announcement marks a new milestone in the country’s connectivity with North America and significantly boosts the flow of international tourists to our territory.
The ministry specified that the routes began operations on December 5 of last week, with Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner, aircraft with capacity for 255 passengers, distributed in 20 seats in signature class, 21 in premium and economy, and 214 in tourist class, offering a comfortable, efficient and world-standard travel experience.
Teresa Mera, head of Mincetur, pointed out that the return of Air Canada not only strengthens the connection between Peru and Canada, but also expands connectivity to Europe, given that Toronto and Montreal serve as strategic hubs for the airline to multiple European destinations.
“The entry of this operator increases travel possibilities, improves connection times and positions our country as a competitive and accessible destination for long-haul sending markets, reflecting confidence in the dynamism and potential of the Peruvian market,” he commented.
With the joint presence of Air Canada and Air Transat, Peru now has two Canadian airlines offering direct services, which increases competition and expands the alternatives for foreign tourists interested in visiting our country.
