AILA: Traveler arrested with 99 bags of cocaine in his stomach

AILA: Detienen viajero con 99 bolsitas de cocaína en el estómago

Las Americas Airport.Members of the National Drug Control Directorate (DNCD) and the Specialized Airport Security Corps and under the coordination of the Public Ministry,
arrested in this air terminal, a Dominican-Dutch, transporting in his stomach the amount of 99 bags of cocaine.

This is Francisco Ismael Avastia, 43 years old, who was detained by DNCD and CESAC agents before boarding a flight with destination to Belgiumwhere he intended to carry the 99 bags of cocaine in his stomach weighing 1.2 kilograms.

From the Las Américas airport, the Dominican-Dutchman was transferred to the Central Hospital of the Armed Forces on Avenida Ortega y Gasset. National District, where he expelled from the bags of
cocaine from your stomach.

The detainee is in the custody of the Public ministry to meet coercive measures in the next few hours, while the DNCD further investigations into the case to determine
if he himself served as a mule or if he has any connection with drug traffickers.

The 99 sachets were sent to the National Institute of Forensic Sciences (INACIF) for the corresponding purposes.
