AILA arrests man who allegedly killed "Tiguere de Cartón"

He was arrested, in Las Americas International Airport (AILA)Rafael Anyel Díaz Mejía, 26, accused of killing Ángel Roberto Velázquez Casado, alias “Tíguere de Cartón”.

Díaz Mejía was arrested when he was returning to the country from Boston, USA.

The preliminary report of the South Central Regional Directorate of the Policeindicates that Díaz Mejía had fled the country after allegedly committing the act against alias “Tíguere de Cartón”, who in life was dedicated to entering patios of private residences for the purpose of stealing.

According to this same report, the detainee was wanted by means of an arrest warrant, number 00292-2022, for having killed Velázquez Casado, in an event that occurred in the Sombrero Arriba sector, in Baní, Peravia province, on February 16 of this year. year 2022.

«Díaz Mejía, was captured in the AILA by members of the Police, attached to Interpol after arriving in the country from Boston on JetBlue flight 1929. He had an alert order filed by our South Central Regional Directorate », says the police report.

The man, who resides in Boca Canasta, Baní, was immediately taken to the police station by members of the Criminal Investigations Branch (DICRIM), where he was placed under the control of the Public Ministry for the corresponding legal purposes.
