Santo Domingo.– The Las Américas International Airport (AILA) activated its security protocols after receiving a threat linked to the flight CM299 of the airline Copa Airlines.
The situation was attended to immediately and coordinated by the airport authorities, together with the Specialized Corps in Airport Security and Civil Aviation (CESAC), applying the procedures established for this type of alerts.
As part of the preventive measures, two flights were temporarily diverted: JetBlue 590 landed in the Cibao International Airportin Santiago, while United 2404 was redirected towards Punta Cana. Both planes were scheduled to arrive at AILA within the next hour.
The authorities assured that, after the activation of the protocols correspondingoperations at the airport are develop normally and they have not been additional incidents reported.
