Santo Domingo. – The Dominican Institute of Cardiology Association (AIDC) celebrated its forty-ninth promotion of cardiologists 2001-2024, the twenty-seventh promotion of cardiologists-echocardiographers 2023-2024 and the third promotion of intensivists-cardiologists and post-surgical cardiac surgery 2022-2024.
At an event in the Amadeo Barletta Hall of the specialized health center, Dr. Mayra Melo, director of AIDC, and the deputy director, Dr. Josué Pichardo, led the graduation ceremony that makes eleven new professionals who are experts in heart health available to society.
On this occasion, seven new specialists, three new cardiologists-cocardiographers and a specialist in post-surgical cardiac surgery received their diplomas accrediting them as cardiologists.
In her speech, Dr. Melo urged the new cardiologists to practice medicine with the human quality that the health center preaches and with which they were trained for the benefit of patients. She urged them to keep up to date with technological advances and new techniques to be competitive and to be able to offer the best and most modern services to their patients.
Melo stressed: “One of our pillars is our school, the oldest and most demanding in the country. We have been in existence for 60 years, which proudly places us among the highest academic standards in Latin America. Today, we are here before you, very happy and with the satisfaction of having fulfilled our duty.”
He also stated: “We put at the service of the country and the world seven specialists in the medical branch of cardiology, three echocardiographers and a doctor trained in the post-surgical area of cardiac surgery, who have successfully completed the program established by the medical residency department of the Ministry of Public Health, the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Technology, endorsed by the Autonomous University of Santo Domingo.”
Graduates
The following doctors graduated as cardiologists: Katherine Rivera Rosario, Marlene Matos Saliche, Mahnaty Mabel Perez Gonzalez, Cesar Manuel Garcia Taveras, Wilfredo Jaskul Tejada Martinez, Jose Armando Gomez Castillo and Joao Antonio Robles Vasquez.
In the area of echocardiography, the new specialists are Luis Alberto Castillo Núñez, Adamys Collado Guichardo and Gabriel Polanco Silvestre; while Gismeily Presbot de la Rosa completed her studies in the post-surgical branch of cardiac surgery.
The new professionals in the cardiology field received their letter of completion from the head of the Teaching Department, Dr. Edgar Cadena, were sworn in by Dr. Cleisy and, at the same time, received their rings from Dr. Josué Pichardo, AIDC medical deputy director.
Dr. Natividad Díaz, head of the Echocardiography Department, presented the certificates to the new specialists in the area, while Dr. Carlos Rivera, head of the Post-Surgical Department, did the same with the new specialist.
Of the new specialists, two of them will continue to receive echocardiography treatment and one of the new echocardiographers will remain part of the staff of specialist doctors at the institution.
