The unsuccessful search for hair care products for her nine-year-old daughter, who had curly and dry hair, led the entrepreneur Julia Tavárez to create Aia Water Mousse, an exclusive hair line for infants.

“As a mother, I do not want to put a product for adults on my daughter’s hair, as it can cause irritation, alteration of the scalp or allergies due to the ingredients,” she tells elCaribe

The also journalist and lawyer began a market study in order to corroborate the profitability of hair products for girls and their demand.

After carrying out the survey, he discovered that his initiative has a high percentage of profit and that many mothers want to find preparations with natural ingredients and without chemicals for the special care of their little ones.

“With this market study I confirmed that I was not the only mother concerned about the hair health of children and that there was a very marked need. This need became a great opportunity for me”, she recalls.

According to the lawyer, the development of her Aia Water Mousse project was born out of love for her children and the desire she has to protect them.

Aia Water Mousse is a line that has four main products, a shampoo, conditioner, mask and “leave in”, which are prepared with natural ingredients such as coconut, oats, papaya, aloe, almonds and chamomile.

Tavárez ensures that his project complies with the strictest production and quality standards, providing the hair with hydration, shine, softness, and easy disentangling. “My products provide softness to the hair, no tears, 100% manageable strands and a delicious aroma,” he says.

The businesswoman assures that her elaborations are made by expert hands of the Dominican hair industry, with a demanding selection of ingredients and state-of-the-art equipment.

Aia Water Mousse, with more than two years on the market, is produced in a laboratory with 30 years of experience, which has national and international certifications to guarantee the quality of the products and the peace of mind of the parents who use it. “Aia Water Mousse is made for all types of children’s hair, free of sulfates, parabens, salt and dyes and provides the strand with necessary nutrients at their age,” she points out.

It indicates that Aia Water Mousse is derived from the combination of the names of her children, Amelia and Alan. “What identifies the brand is a combination of the letters of my children’s names, Amelia and Alan, together with the essential elements for washing children’s hair, such as water and foam,” she explains proudly.

Julia Tavárez’s hair products are especially for children between the ages of four and 12.

The young entrepreneur reports that her products will soon be in children’s stores, supermarkets, pharmacies, and beauty salons. “We have a portfolio of clients in the national territory and our aspirations are to export to the United States, because we have the conditions to do so,” she says.

Tavárez remembers his childhood as a beautiful time full of love and family togetherness. From his mother he learned to be a believer and to cultivate faith, as well as the unconditional love that develops for his children. And from his father he assumed dedication, community service, leadership, loyalty and the weight of words as a commitment. “Everything my parents taught me comes together to make me what I am: a woman with two professions and with a venture made with a lot of dedication to help other women mothers in the hair health of their daughters and sons”, she expresses with emotion.

The entrepreneur says that her relatives have been the support of her life, who have supported her in the formulation and development of the project.

“Aia Water Mousse has been inspired by my children. These are daily motivation, and that is why today I offer other mothers a high-quality product because I also use them at home and they work for me with excellent results”, she points out.

In addition to creating products for infants, Julia Tavárez has been working as a public relations officer and institutional strategic communication manager for 13 years.

When questioned about the profitability of her income, she assures that since she started with Aia Water Mousse her economy has changed. “Our statistics are showing good rates. What began in 2020 as a necessity has gone through a verification and validation process. Today it is a company to help other mothers with their children’s hair health”, she says.
