Águilas appeal confiscated game in favor of Licey

The Águilas Cibaeñas appealed yesterday, against the Dominican Baseball League (Lidom), the confiscation of the game held on November 6 against the Licey Tigers.

The Eagles formalized, at 2:13 in the afternoon yesterday, the delivery of the appeal against the contentious decision to the members that make up the Lidom appeal commission and which was signed by its president Víctor García Sued. Likewise, the team expressed its indignation for not respecting confidentiality rights regarding the decision made by the president of the LidomVitelio Mejía, who favors the Tigres with the decision.

In the appeal delivered by the Cibaeño team to the members of the appeal commission, they express that they revoke, in all its parts, the contentious resolution numbered R0.01-22-23, as “inadmissible, ill-founded and lacking legally and by consequence confirm the victory of the Águilas Cibaeñas team in the match held on November 6, 2022”.

The violation of the Lidom rules by the Eagles occurred with the absence of pitcher Geoff Hartlieb for reasons that were supposedly justified in the paternity list and left-handed Roenis Elías entered in his place, who in that game, won by the yellows 6 -5, pitched three innings as a starter. The investigation carried out by Lidom was carried out in order to verify that Hartlieb did not meet the conditions to be on the paternity list, therefore the registration of Elías in the roster was fraudulent and hence the punishment.
