The Attorney General’s Office (AGU) will set up a task force to collect compensation from those responsible for damages caused to public property in the invasions of the headquarters of the Three Powers in Brasília. The body will act as an assistant to the prosecution in criminal actions against extremists identified in the depredations in the federal capital and against public agents colluding with anti-democratic acts.
It will be up to the task force to file lawsuits to collect compensation. The group will also take legal action to hold public agents responsible for any intentional omissions that made the practice of such acts possible.
According to the AGU, the task force will also monitor the unfolding of the investigation of the crimes committed, acting as an assistant to the prosecution of possible criminal actions to be filed by the Public Ministry to criminally hold the perpetrators of illegal acts accountable.
The body informed that it will also go to court with actions of prohibitory interdict to prevent new illicit attacks against the federal public property, including the buildings that house the Powers of the Republic.

Earlier, the AGU had announced that it had sent to the Supreme Court a request for the arrest of the former Secretary of Public Security for the Federal District, Anderson Torres. The body also requested the arrest of other public agents responsible for acts and omissions and asked for the immediate repossession of the Esplanada dos Ministérios.
