The Attorney General of the Union (AGU) requested this Friday (7) from the Supreme Federal Court (STF) speed in the resumption of trial on the accountability of social networks for illegal content posted by users.
The trial was suspended in December last year after a request for a view of Minister André Mendonça. The date for resumption has not yet been marked.
In the petition sent to the Supreme Court, the AGU states that the theme should be treated as a priority against the announcement of the goal (Instagram controller, Facebook and WhatsApp) of new rules that can make the fight against hate speeches flexible.
For the agency, the new model of the terms of use of the platforms allows the dissemination of messages with racist, xenophobic, misogynistic and homophobic content.
