AGU appeals filing of complaint against player Wallace

The Advocacy General of the Union (AGU) asked the Superior Court of Sports Justice (STJD) of volleyball to reconsider the decision that filed representation against the player Wallace Souza. In January, the athlete posted a photo of himself with a 12-gauge gun in his hand on his Instagram account and opened a poll asking: “Would you shoot a guy in the face? [presidente da república] Lula with that 12?”.AGU appeals filing of complaint against player Wallace

After the episode, the player was the subject of a representation in the Sports Court, but the complaint was filed after the court understood that there are no legal reasons for opening a lawsuit in the sports field.

In the request for reconsideration sent this Thursday (2) to the STJD, the AGU argues that the player’s conduct can be classified in the Brazilian Code of Sports Justice (CBJD) as incitement to hatred or violence, rules that allowed the suspension of the athlete, who plays for Cruzeiro.

In the understanding of the organ, Wallace’s conduct is “fertile ground for the reproduction of violent and criminal actions”.

“Terrorist acts such as those by January 8th and mass murders under the most vile pretexts, including with weapons of the same caliber conveyed by the represented, tend to propagate in society, under the influence of expressions of hatred, such as the one now impugned”, argued the AGU.

Defense

After the repercussion of the statements, the player apologized for to have promoted to poll. He declared that he “would never incite violence under any circumstances” and said he made “an unfortunate post”.
