Agro Rural began the third urea purchase process and invited 158 international companies

In view of the irregular previous processes, this time, Rural Agriculture carried out the webinar “International acquisition of urea nitrogen fertilizer”, where it invited more than 158 companies from 52 countries to learn about the technical procedure and advance in the third urea purchase process for the 2022-2023 agricultural campaign.

“This process has been designed with the highest international contracting standards backed by a professional technical team that has had several successful contracts in the country.”, stated the executive director of Agro Rural, Mario Rivero, who opened the event on behalf of the Peruvian State and the Ministry of Agrarian Development and Irrigation.

A collaborative and comprehensive strategy was also considered in joint action with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which invited more than 158 companies from 52 countries through the network of missions abroad and foreign missions accredited in our country, with the aim to achieve a broader participation of bidders.

During the virtual event, which was held for the first time simultaneously in English, Spanish and Portuguese, Sofía SolSol, head of administration at Agro Rural, spoke about the phases that make up the new process: preparatory acts, contracting and contract signing.

Meanwhile, Fernando Loayza, Head of the Fertilizer Extraction and Marketing Sub-Unit, provided details on the technical specifications. Likewise, the representatives of the registered companies made technical consultations, which were attended by the institutional team.

“In this way, Agro Rural ratified the commitment of the agricultural sector to carry out a transparent process that meets the requirements and technical specifications in order to guarantee the 2022-2023 agricultural campaign for our agricultural producers in Peru”specified Agro Rural.
