Puerto Plata.- The Ministry of Agriculture, through the Luperón Subzonal Office, cleared some 7,900 land tasks in several locations in this province for the benefit of around 150 small producers of different sectors.

In 2,700 tasks, crossing work was carried out, benefiting 56 producers, while in 5,200 tasks, cutting work was carried out, benefiting another 78 farmers.

The measure seeks to increase the production and productivity of bananas, corn, cassava, pumpkin and various short-cycle vegetables, reported the subzonal manager of Luperón, Félix Almánzar.

All work is carried out free of charge within the AC-360 project of Las Paredes in Luperón; In the other districts, producers only have to provide fuel for the work. These land preparation measures will be taken to other areas of the province,” he said.

He indicated that the plowing work carried out is in line with the food security policy of President Luis Abinader and that it is carried out by order of the Minister of Agriculture, Limber Cruz, with the purpose of supporting small producers so that they can reduce costs. .
