The Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (Mapa) released this Friday (2) a list with 16 brands of roasted coffee considered unfit for consumption. Analysis found foreign matter, impurities or foreign elements above the permitted limit.
Products must be collected by the responsible companies, as provided for by law, in cases of risk to public health, adulteration, fraud or falsification.
The 16 brands of coffee that are unfit for consumption are Oba Oba Sorriso, Exemplar, Matão, Belo, Moreno, Pureza, Terra da Saudade, Góes Traditional Vacuum Packed, Serra do Brasil, Cambeense, Dourados, Do Norte, Salute, Ivaiporã, Terra da Gente and Dona Filinha.
At the beginning of July, Mapa had released a list with inappropriate brands.
The ministry advises the population to stop consuming these coffees and request a replacement as determined by the Consumer Protection Code. If you find these brands being sold, you can contact the official Fala.BR channel, informing the establishment and the address where the product was purchased.
The Department of Inspection of Products of Plant Origin of the Secretariat of Agricultural Defense is responsible for inspecting roasted and ground coffee in the domestic market.
“After Operation Valoriza was carried out in March 2024, in which inspections of roasted coffee were carried out for two weeks in a concentrated manner, Mapa continued to carry out routine inspections during the following months, including responding to complaints made by citizens through the Fala.BR platform”, said Ludmilla Verona, coordinator of Plant Quality Inspection.
The inspection and analysis of products are part of the National Program for the Prevention and Combat of Fraud and Clandestine Activities in Products of Plant Origin (PNFraude), which aims to reduce fraud and promote regularity in establishments producing products of plant origin.
