The Agriculture Commission of the Chamber of Deputies and Deputies approved this Tuesday a motion of censure against the president of the instance, Velous Consuelo (RD), for which he will have to leave office. This, at the request of the deputy Juan Antonio Coloma (UDI).
The legislator charged that Veloso ended a session early, while two deputies requested the floor. The RD parliamentarian indicated that she “was not aware” of the fact.
Eight deputies of the instance voted in favor of the motion of censure and five were against it. In the first group are Rene Alinco (IND-PPD) and Gloria Naveillan (IND-PDG).
voltage per agreement
The Alinco and Naveillán vote generates tension in the face of the eventual arrival of Karol Cariola (PC) to the presidency of the Chamber of Deputies. According to an administrative agreement agreed in March -between the government parties, the DC and the PDG-, the legislator should assume the front. However, from the PDG they have shown reluctance in supporting Cariola.
“I hope that there are two issues (the motion of censure and the vote for the presidency of the Chamber) that run in separate lanes and that the agreements that have not been respected today are respected,” said deputy Veloso, slogan Radio Bio Bio.
“Undoubtedly this censorship was completely unfair, disproportionate and with an interest rather than his sector taking the presidency,” he added.
“I believe that there is still an opportunity for the People’s Party to choose the place from which it will be in the next negotiations and agreement for the Table. And regarding deputy Alinco, it is unfortunate that he again falls into what he already fell when he agreed with deputy Coloma to remove the deputy Jorge Brito of the presidency of the Defense Commission”, Veloso lashed out.
