One of its leaders identified as Julio Carbajal told América Noticias that members of the so-called Frentagri (Front of Agricultural Workers of Ica) and the organized civil population are participating in the strike.
Asked about his demands to the government, he mentioned that the price of fuel be reduced, that the prices of the products of the basic family basket fall, investments to generate more employment. “Several colleagues have lost their jobs and now with the increase in the minimum wage, companies are going to lay off workers and we are going to be left with less work“, he claimed.
“Ica also joins this fight, today we go to the market and everything is expensive, the fuel for the groups has doubled and even tripled, that’s why the Frentagri and the organized civil population have come out to demonstrate. We are in Chinatown, in Guadalupe, there are different organizations, the strike is indefinite”, declared Carbajal.

Regarding the government’s decision to reduce the payment of the Selective Consumption Tax (ISC) on fuels, by up to 90%, via the next supreme decree, Carbajal pointed out that the agreements between the government and Huancayo unions did not include the participation of small farmers.
“We have been in communication with leaders of small farmers in Huancayo who have once again blocked some roads. The president said that all the unions were vandals, that they financed us, that the president (Castillo) come, we are going to organize a platform for him to sign a decree stabilizing the economy of the family basket”, pointed out the leader.
