For Monday and Tuesday, June 27 and 28, unions in the agricultural sector will abide by a national strike. The measure was taken after a meeting of representatives of different organizations held today at the headquarters of the National Agrarian Confederation, in downtown Lima, according to reports. PTR.
Cesar Guarniznational coordinator of agrarian unions, explained that they are taking the measure of force because they do not take into account the demands and as a measure of protest against the Congress of the Republic for carrying out a Agrarian Plenary without prior consultation of the agenda to the union organizations.
“We are on a 48-hour strike to tell you that we farmers exist, those of us who feed the people. They have held an Agrarian Plenum behind our backs. It has not been consulted or prioritized by us. That worries us. We reaffirm the strike for June 27 and 28”, he remarked.

“The issue of self-defense is not only unconstitutional, it threatens our lives, it threatens our organization of patrols. We have achieved pacification at the national level without any weapons,” said the leader Marino Flores.
“We have managed to prevent terrorism or drug trafficking from infiltrating our organizations and we have fought them without any weapons,” he added.
These stoppages are added to the announced strike of carriers called by the National Union of Heavy Cargo Carriers (UNT), whose president, Javier Marchese, announced it with a worrying phrase: “No food will enter Lima on Monday.”
