Agricultural Freight Carriers Supply Merca Panama and Sign Up to Receive $3.95 Fuel

A total of 200 agricultural cargo vehicles entered Merca Panama in the last hours, to supply this market and guarantee food supply, in addition, carriers took the opportunity to register to opt for the freezing of fuel at B/.3.95, as it happened to know, in a tour carried out by the Minister of Agricultural Development, Augusto Valderrama, in the company of his work team, in these facilities for the collection and sale of food products.

The visit was made to verify the supply of products, after some food cargo carriers from Chiriquí declared a vigil on Saturday, June 25, in a meeting with Minister Valderrama, in the district of David, in which it was agreed the freezing of fuel for this sector.

Valderrama stressed that they will meet again with agricultural cargo carriers this Tuesday, June 28, to continue listening and responding to this sector.

He said that the Government, led by the President of the Republic Laurentino Cortizo Cohen, has shown its face and has good will to continue strengthening the different sectors of this society, so “let’s continue negotiating”, without affecting third parties, guaranteeing food, which is the peace of the peoples.

During the tour, the different food sales stalls in Merca Panama were observed, in which there were assortments of different products, including potatoes, lettuce, onion, celery, among other items.

In addition, the carriers took advantage of Merca Panama to register and make use of the agreement to freeze fuel for this sector at B/.3.95.
