In January of this year, the agroexports they totaled US$921 million, which meant a decline of 2.7% compared to the same month last year, reported the Ministry of Agrarian Development and Irrigation (Midagri).
The main products in the agro-export ranking were: fresh grapes with US$335 million, fresh mangoes with US$77 million, fresh red cranberries with US$73 million, and fresh or refrigerated asparagus with US$35 million.
Also noteworthy were animal feed (US$18 million), frozen mango (US$17 million), crude palm oil (US$15 million), other cocoa beans (US$14 million), prepared or preserved asparagus (US $12 million), and bananas including plantains (US$10 million).

Midagri also highlighted fruit and vegetable exports from the basket of non-traditional products, whose sales reached US$604 million (71% of non-traditional agricultural exports) during January 2023, a figure that meant an increase of 0.2% compared to 2022. .
By destination, the Ministry revealed that the 10 main points of sale of Peruvian agricultural exports were the United States, the Netherlands, China, Ecuador, Spain, Mexico, England, Colombia, Canada, and Chile. This group of countries concentrated 79% of the total FOB value exported during the past year.
“At the regional level, agricultural exports in January grew in 10 of 24 departments, highlighting in this behavior the growth dynamics registered in the jungle region. For example, in the mountains the growth of agro-exports from Cusco, Huancavelica and Huánuco (+53%) was registered”, highlighted Midagri.
