Agricultural emergency declared in Buenos Aires and Formosa

The The Ministry of Agriculture declared a state of agricultural emergency in the provinces of Buenos Aires and Formosathrough resolutions 48/2022 and 49/2022 published this Friday in the Official Gazette.

At case of Buenos Airesthe declaration is valid from last January 1 and until next December 31, in the agricultural, livestock and beekeeping farms affected by drought, in the district of Patagoneswith the exception of areas under irrigation.

Likewise, it was determined that December 31, 2021 is the end date of the production cycle for the affected agricultural operations in the declared areas.

For Formosathe emergency was declared from January 1 to June 30, 2023, for the Livestock and beekeeping farms affected by drought, high temperatures and firesthroughout the provincial territory.

In addition, it was established from January 1 to June 30 of this year, for agricultural operations of second planting corn and cucurbit crops and for banana, cotton, cassava, sweet potato and peanut crops affected by drought, in the departments of Formosa, Laishi, Pilcomayo, Pirané, Pilagás, Patiño and Bermejo.

In the first case, in Formosa, June 30, 2023 was set as the end date of the production cycle for the affected farms in the declared areas, and for the second, June 30 next.

Both resolutions indicated that, in order to qualify for the benefits, affected producers must present a certificate issued by the competent authority of the provincestating that their farms or farms are included in the cases provided.

For its part, the provincial government will send the list of affected producers to the Executive Technical Secretariat of the National Commission for Agricultural Emergencies and Disasters, attaching a copy of the emergency certificate issued by the competent provincial authority.

Meanwhile, the national, official or mixed banking institutions and the Federal Administration of Public Revenues (AFIP), will arbitrate the necessary means so that the agricultural producers included in the resolution enjoy the benefits provided.
