Agreement would be on the tightrope

The dispute between the opposition and the ANR over the use of the Permanent Civic Registry in the National Coalition’s inmates is not going back, but it threatens the solidity of the opposition nucleation.

The National Agreement seeks the use of the Permanent Civic Registry (RCP) when choosing the presidential tag that will fight for a space in the Executive, against the Colorado Party. However, the ANR maintains the possibility of challenging the opposition nucleation, taking into account their disagreement about the participation of Colorados in the internal ones of the Coalition.

The candidate for president of the Republic for the National Coalition, Soledad Núñez, affirmed that they will defend until the last instance the use of the National Register in the December 18 inmates.

The declarations of the presidential candidate are given after the opinion of the electoral prosecutor, which indicates that the National Coalition cannot use the national register for its inmates. Along the same lines, the general representative of the National Republican Association (ANR) filed a challenge to the request of the agreement to use the national register for said inmates.

“The internal elections of the agreement are going to be broad, free, open and democratic. Do not be fooled by the interests of some sectors that hijacked politics and want everything to remain the same. We are all going to vote,” Núñez said in a tweet.

Likewise, he stated that all the political actors that are in the National Agreement are firm to defend until the end the use of the electoral roll. He also announced that they will continue to outline the actions and arguments to correct this interpretation of the electoral law and thus guarantee the free participation of all those who are qualified to vote.

“I am not willing to lower my arms for what corresponds to the country. The Concertación has already decided: citizenship will be in the December elections. There is no legal impediment for the concertation to choose its methods of election and go to internal”, assured Núñez.

UNCONSTITUTIONAL
The political scientist and researcher, Luis Fretes Carreras, affirmed for 1080 AM that the intention of the Colorado Party to prevent the National Concertation from using the Permanent Civic Registry in its internal affairs is illegal and an act of dictatorship. He pointed out in turn that the Constitution and the laws will not allow him to achieve it.

The specialist participated in the drafting of the Concertación law and referred to the intention of the Colorado Party representatives to take legal action against the use of the Permanent Civic Registry in the National Concertación.

“The intention of some people who represent some political groups of wanting to limit the right of people to choose to vote wherever they want is acting outside the law and it is precisely an act of dictatorship,” he sentenced.

He explained that the Constitution establishes that the vote is personal, free and that it cannot be subject to another instance that is not one’s own will. “The National Constitution clearly establishes that the people who are going to exercise their vote should not have any type of conditioning,” he remarked.

Those who act against the use of the Civic Registry, “are going to find that the current constitutional and legal norm is not going to allow them to implement this. It will be defined by the Superior Court of Electoral Justice, which has two new members and they are two honorable people », he said.

Regarding the participation of Euclides Acevedo in the National Agreement, the political scientist said that he had time until Monday to join the nucleation, however he did not sign the agreement.

Fretes Carreras pointed out that on July 7 the Concertación would be constituted and recognized as a political figure that will compete in the next elections and that on July 8 there would be a new schedule in which it could be decided that any person, regardless of their affiliation, could to be able to participate and apply.

“In other words, if Mr. Euclides Acevedo considers, he can enter the National Agreement after July 7, until August 31,” he explained.
